I have to say, I absolutely love sessions at clients homes! It makes every single session unique and it definitely keeps me on my toes, as I never know what sort of setting am I going to arrive to, how big the windows will be and how will I use available light to my advantage.
In this blog I want to ensure parents and clients who might not be convinced about the home sessions, why would it be an amazing idea to go for it.
REASON 1 - BAD WEATHER? NO PROBLEM! :)
Winter or summer… or it could be literally raining cats and dogs outside, as long as I don’t get blown away on my way to you, we will always have perfect settings for photographs. I do not usually use any big studio lights and absolutely love working with natural light available in your homes. Over the years I have developed a good eye for it and I am sure we will find perfect setting in every home. Soooo…Turn the heating on, let your favorite music play in background and enjoy the session!
REASON 2 - ANY TIME IS GREAT! (ALMOST)
When it come to outdoor sessions, I love to shoot around sunset, in order to get the softest and most even light and those warm tones and colours.
As we live in Scotland, everybody knows that when it comes to weather and forecasts, it is pretty much impossible to predict whether the beautiful colourful sunset is going to happen or day will just turn into night with all beauty being hidden behind thick cover of clouds. Home sessions are absolutely amazing for this reason. We don’t need any special settings and we don’t need to hope for good colours of the sky and good light.
We can schedule your session at pretty much any time of the day (during sunlight), what gives you great flexibility and more time slots to choose from to fit around your schedule.
REASON 3 - ALL YOU NEED IS THERE
I am sure you know it.. the moment you leave home with you kids, one need to suddenly use the toilet again, the other realised they forgot their favourite toy and snacks… You just noticed that your top is covered in ice-cream and your partner is just unsure why have you made them to sign up for this :)
Amazing thing about home sessions is, that you will have everything you need around you! Whether it’s snack for the little one, or change of outfit. You don’t have to go anywhere:)
REASON 4 - LET KIDS BE KIDS
I know kids can be sometimes a little bit cranky, moody or shy when it comes to photo sessions. That is absolutely nothing to worry about! I have loads of tricks how to make them happy and on board! They will feel comfortable at home, surrounded by their favorite toys and wont be stressed by the new environment.
REASON 5 - ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
I could write paaaaaages and pages about what sort of sessions can we photograph at your home. Do you have board games? bring it on! Would you like to try to make pancakes together? lets do it!
How about we all read a book together, or have a family disco? Maybe we can try painting, or drawing something! Or how about making family hand prints on the wall ? Whatever you like to do as family, we can incorporate it into your photo shoot.
